INNOVATION

• SMART COVER POOL & DECK is a key project for Soprefa to develop and commercialize in the international market differentiated and high added value products when compared to the existing ones. These are based on new composite materials with high mechanical resistance and dimensional stability, in profiles for swimming pool covers with high resistance to deterioration and also super-reinforced structures.

• Co-promotion with R&D entities, CTCP, UMINHO and UAVEIRO, and the support of COMPETE 2020 are essential to achieve the proposed results in the expected time.

• COMPETE 2020 and, in particular, the R & D projects in co-promotion is a very relevant tool to support the creation of new products with value and contribute to the competitiveness and internationalization of Portuguese SMEs.

Innovative Solutions for Safe and Sustainable Intelligent Swimming Pools

Smart Cover Pool & Deck aims to develop new products to be used in swimming pools and their surroundings, based on innovative solutions:

• Transparent swimming pool cover profile meeting international standards for impact resistance and color fading after aging;
• Reinforced deck profile in thermoplastic matrix composite showing good mechanical strength and low coefficient of thermal expansion;
• Deck support subframe to expedite installation of deck profiles.
